The Journey
"It's not about the numbers, it's about the experience." That's how Jeff Cameron looks at both golf and his chosen profession. It's the philosophy of a Southern California native, who as a kid collected stamps and baseball cards because he loved the organization. The stamps began with his father's World's Fair collection that dates back to the late 1800s. But it was in high school when Jeff took his first job at the practice range at Los Robles Greens that he found his true passion. "The challenge with golf is mental... you have to remember 25 little things, and at the same time, empty your mind." It's this Zen-like aspect of the game that Jeff loves, along with the fresh air, beautiful views and the inherent solitude of the player.
After high school, Jeff was drafted and joined the US Navy. He was stationed in Sasebo, Japan for four years, where he found a rich culture and many friends that he still remembers fondly. The GI Bill was his ticket to studying accounting, a discipline he liked because of the symmetry and organization. After being recruited out of CSUN by SPS, he soon realized that it was not only a uniquely congenial environment, but also had a dynamic leadership that could lead the firm to great success.
Jeff is proudly born and bred an SPS man, where he has held many job titles over the years. He loves the distinctive stories of every client, and relishes the special satisfaction that lies beyond the mere numbers of being a CPA. As with golf, it's all about the experience.
